The Deadline for Scholarship Applications
May 1, 2025
Established in 2017, the Belmont Garden Club Scholarship is open to all students at Belmont High School who are intending to pursue studies in horticulture or environmental studies. The scholarship money comes from a variety of fund raising activities, such as the May Perennial Sale, that the Belmont Garden Club hosts throughout the year.
Scholarship applicants must:
1. Attend Belmont High School
2. Be in good academic standing
3. Have been accepted and plan to attend a two or four year program at an accredited institution
Their area of declared study must be in one of the following areas: Agriculture, Biology, Botany, Environmental Studies, Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design or a closely related field.
The scholarship amount is $600 and will be sent directly to the recipient’s college or university before the start of the second semester of Freshman year. In addition, the Belmont Garden Club is providing a book stipend of $400 to defray the cost of books. This money will be sent directly to the student's home address at the same time.
Along with a completed application, two character recommendations are required. Prior scholarship winners may reapply for this scholarship award in subsequent years. Their academic performance will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of the Belmont Garden Club, and continued scholarship for the next year of study may be approved.
